പീച്ചിങ്ങ അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ പീച്ചില്‍ നിരവധി ഗുണങ്ങളുള്ളൊരു വെള്ളരി വര്‍ഗ വിളയാണ്. പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് പശുത്തൊഴിനും വിറക് പുറയ്ക്കും മുകളില്‍ പടര്‍ന്നു വളര്‍ന്നു ധാരാളം കായ്കള്‍ നല്‍കുന്ന പീച്ചിങ്ങയിന്നു വളരെ കുറച്ചു പേര്‍ മാത്രമാണ് കൃഷി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ധാരാളം നാരുകളുള്ള നാടന്‍ ഇനത്തെ കാണുക തന്നെ അപൂര്‍വം. പടവലങ്ങ പോലെ നല്ല നീളമുള്ള എന്നാല്‍ നാരുകള്‍ കുറവുള്ള ഇനമാണിപ്പോള്‍ ഭൂരിഭാഗം പേരും കൃഷി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. പന്തലിട്ട് വളര്‍ത്തേണ്ട പീച്ചിങ്ങ കൃഷി ചെയ്താല്‍ പോഷക സമൃദ്ധവും രുചികരവുമായ വിഭവങ്ങള്‍ തയാറാക്കാം. **വിത്ത് മുളപ്പിക്കല്‍** വിത്ത് മുളപ്പിച്ചു തടത്തിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി നടുന്ന രീതിയാണു നല്ലത്. സ്യൂഡോമോണാസ് ലായനിയില്‍ വിത്ത് അര മണിക്കൂര്‍ കുതിര്‍ത്തു നടുന്നത് ഏറെ നല്ലതാണ്. മുളച്ചു കഴിയുമ്പോള്‍ രണ്ടു ഗ്രാം സ്യൂഡോമോണാസ് ഒരു ലിറ്റര്‍ വെള്ളത്തില്‍ കലക്കി ചുവട്ടിലും ഇലകളിലും തളിച്ചാല്‍ ആരോഗ്യത്തോടെ വളരും. ആഴ്ചയില്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ സ്യൂഡോമോണാസ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചാല്‍ രോഗബാധ കുറയും, കൂടുതല്‍ ശിഖിരങ്ങള്‍ ചെടിയില്‍ ഉണ്ടാവും. **പറിച്ചു നടല്‍** നാലില പ്രായമാകുമ്പോള്‍ പറിച്ചു നടാം. എല്ല് പൊടി, ഉണങ്ങിയ ചാണകപ്പൊടി, കോഴിക്കാഷ്ടം തുടങ്ങിയ വളങ്ങള്‍ ചേര്‍ത്തു മണ്ണിളക്കി തടം തയാറാക്കി വേണം നടാന്‍. വള്ളി വീശി തുടങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ പന്തലിട്ടു നല്‍കണം. നല്ല പോലെ പടര്‍ന്നു ധാരാളം കായ്കളുണ്ടാകാന്‍ പന്തലിട്ടു കൊടുക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതാണ്. രണ്ടാഴ്ചയില്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ കടല പിണ്ണാക്ക് – വേപ്പ് പിണ്ണാക്ക് ചാണകം ഇവ ചേര്‍ത്ത സ്ലറി ഒഴുക്കുക. ഇതോടൊപ്പം കുറച്ച് എല്ലുപൊടി വിതറുക. എന്നാല്‍ നല്ല പോലെ പടര്‍ന്നു വളര്‍ന്നു പൂക്കളുണ്ടാകും. കായ് പിടിക്കാനും ഇവ ആരോഗ്യത്തോടെ വളരാനും എല്ല് പൊടി വിതറുന്നത് സഹായിക്കും. **വിളവെടുപ്പ്** 45 മുതല്‍ 60 ദിവസങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ളില്‍ പീച്ചിങ്ങാ വിളവെടുപ്പിനു പാകമാകും. പന്തലില്‍ കേറിയ ചെടിയുടെ തലപ്പ് നുള്ളിയ ശേഷം സ്യൂഡോമോണാസ് ഇലകളില്‍ തളിച്ചാല്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ശിഖരങ്ങള്‍ വരും. അവയിലെല്ലാം പൂക്കളുണ്ടായി കായ്കളുമുണ്ടാകും. പുതുതായി വന്ന ശിഖിരങ്ങള്‍ ഒരു മീറ്റര്‍ നീളത്തില്‍ വളര്‍ന്നാല്‍ വീണ്ടും തലപ്പ് നുള്ളുക, ഒരു ചെടിയില്‍ തന്നെ കുറെയധികം ശിഖിരങ്ങള്‍ വരുകയും കൂടുതല്‍ കായ്കള്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുകയും ചെയ്യും. **ഗുണങ്ങള്‍ നിരവധി** രക്തം ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാനും പ്രമേഹം നിയന്ത്രിക്കാനും പീച്ചിങ്ങ സഹായിക്കും. നാരുകളാല്‍ സമ്പുഷ്ടമാണ് ഈ പച്ചക്കറി. ശരീരഭാരം കുറയ്ക്കാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവര്‍ പീച്ചിങ്ങ ഭക്ഷണത്തില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തുന്നത് നല്ലതാണ്. ആന്റി-ഇന്‍ഫ്‌ലമേറ്ററി, ആന്റിബയോട്ടിക് ഗുണങ്ങള്‍ ഇതില്‍ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു. മഞ്ഞപ്പിത്തത്തിനും പാമ്പ് കടിയേറ്റാല്‍ പ്രയോഗിക്കാനുള്ള മരുന്നിനും പണ്ടു കാലത്ത് കാട്ടുപീച്ചിങ്ങ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നു.
